Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state preliminary tests indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for information.

A senior political figure commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
